Disney closed today in Hong Kong after re-opening (too soon??).

Anyone else think it was stupid of Disney to open at the HEIGHT of cases in Florida?

Money talks.

Disney lost a fortune when closed and spent a lot of money to reopen, and started those plans when cases were still low.

Between lost revenue from Parks and movies, Disney has HUGE problems right now.

Asian countries take pandemics seriously, as they have gone through a few. They know the social, economic, and political repercussions of ignoring a problem like this. Florida is a perfect example of the US denying there is a problem, let alone ignoring it.

-Universal Orlando opened on June 5.

-Sea World Orlando opened on June 12 and had one of the only July 4 displays in the area (July 3-5) as many municipal events were cancelled.

-Auxiliary attractions nearby opened around that time.

Nobody cared.

Those affected by the SPIKE in cases after those openings, they care!

Hong Kong is in a state of political instability. Why bother reopening when employees cannot get to work with protesting, riots, looting, etc. occurring?

The number of COVID-19 cases in Florida has increased with increased testing in additional locations. The number of cases where patients have recovered fully has increased also.

Is it stupid for Walt Disney World to reopen? No, it is not. Disney has properties to reopen to operate and make profit and cast members who need to work, get paid, and pay expenses.
