Hmmm, personally I donot like "electric" anything for transportation and hope I am dead and gone IF Florida decides to do away with gas-powered cars. My daughter has a 2021 Hybrid Honda Accord and luvs it. Lol, I will keep driving my old lady (2006 Hyundai Elantra) until she dies or I do, or they take my driver's license away. Age 64 and still driving.

Well I am 73, and I still drive my little 1995 5-speed Miata. Will drive that until I die or lose my license. As to electric buses, they already have some of those. It will take a long time to phase out gas-powered anything so I am not worried about it.

I am impressed you are still driving a stick!! This car is an "automatic" and bought it in 2018. Before that always stick but my knees began to "rebel" against the clutch. I do not want to have Knee Surgery so gave it up. Missing those days!

Well, yes, some days I have issues that make driving a stick a little tricky. I don't drive as much as I used to, but the Miata is very easy to drive, especially being a stick. And bonus; it is like an anti-theft device because so few people can drive one anymore.

Lol, you right!! My old lady does not have an alarm so I park her right in front of my door with my blinds partially open on my window. Outside light on. She is an automatic, so with my luck some crackhead would break into her and drive off. Driving a stick, a lost skill.

I support it. Less maintenance and a lot cleaner. Auto emissions is the main reason why many mega cities have smog hovering over them.

I agree, just do not feel like it would fit into my budget = that electric bill to recharge. I also heard the "batteries" cost a lot.

In principle, I'm not opposed to electric vehicles. In practice, however, virtually no everyday (read: non-government, non-elite average citizen) proponent appears to have thought through the implications and all-in costs (not just material, but well-being) of mandating such things in the near-term — and that's absolutely frightening given the severity of the prospective negative consequences.

Didn't California mandate electric vehicles for NEW car purchases?

I wonder how that is going to work.
