And, one whole section of the northern Palm Beach County beaches designated for dogs—Jupiter Dog Beach, and the beaches in all of St. John’s County are dog-friendly year round.

I'm not surprised that Miami is at #1.
If you ever walked through the Brickell district you would think every Dog was groomed for the Westminster Dog show !

I’ll note that Okaloosa County is not very dog-friendly. Too many overly entitled dog-owning tourists have led to rules that also negatively impact locals with well-behaved dogs.

I was curious about that.....seems that Okaloosa County also has a lot of overly entitled dog-owning locals too

....lots of dog attacks...mostly pit bulls.....so those rules will also negatively impact locals with ill-behaved dogs

Miami (actually all of Dade county) outlawed pit bulls in the 80s. If you are a resident they can confiscate your dog. If you area visiting they tell you to get your pit bull out of the county asap, next time after the warning they can confiscate your dog.

So Miami is #1 as long as you don't own that breed.

I didn't realize that ban was around since 1989 and the governor just over-rode it.
