The worst place I have been to in Florida is renting on the Weeki Wachee River. I get bit apart by no see ums every time I visit. Do you think I would have as much of a problem in North Florida or the East Coast of Florida? What about Hudson or Port Charlotte?

They're not an issue on FL's east coast in general, with exception to inland waterway areas.

As a FLORIDA NATIVE who grew up going to WW, the insects I remember being a problem on the Weeki were those nasty biting black flies. They are big flies. Not small like no see ums.

Sunup and sundown along the Banana River shoreline can be intense. Thankfully it's only at those times usually.
