If you're from SWFL you've probably seen these condos in the news the last handful of years. These condos were literally IN THE GULF due to beach erosion. It kept getting worse over the years and band aids were added. Hurricane Ian ate away at the foundation and a Engerineering study done show's it's not structurally sound. Yet, despite all this they're building a new seawall and people will still live in them.

Insurance keeps going up and up and it's stuff like this that makes it worse when the next storm comes. As you can see even with the sea wall it's still very close. It's just a matter of time a bigger storm hits with worse surge. A smaller version of Surfside in the making. It needs to be demolished.*

Welcome to Florida, where zoning is strict - unless the developer pays the zoning department extra. Or has a friend on the planning commission. Or is a major donor to the Governor's campaign fund.

No! Most of them are older retired folks in them. Many probably in their 80s now and bought them when they retired in their late 50s since FMB was always cheaper place to be near the beach. So they probably have went through a lot of their retirement savings by now and don't want to lose their condo for next to nothing. That's why they don't want to let go of it.

LMAO 875k for this little thing and basically gutted. Each major hurricane from the Gulf will gut it. Also, built in 1969!

They want two things:

1. To live there
2. Have something to sell to someone else

Lets imagine those are $350,000 condos. Should they just walk away, losing their investment?

Now after seeing that report, I wouldn't buy one but I'd bet the view is nice.
