I have been keeping up to date with home sales in my non HOA neighborhood and also sales in HOA's in the area (Delray Beach) for several years now. It seems to me that HOA home prices plunged more then non HOA home prices. The homes in my non HOA neighborhood have maintained their selling prices since the hike. Homes in HOA's have been marked down tremendously and are now on the market for the same prices as the homes in my neighborhood. It used to be that these homes were $200k more, at least, then where I live. I was thinking this might be because of the HOA fee increases from the past hurricanes. What do you guys think?

In most HOA's they can't only raise the fees a certian amount per the CCRS
I think ours is 3%

Condo can have assessments if there is damage from a storm.
But I am not familiar with assessments in subdivisions
