Who knows I may be dead before I get to be 65.
Great advice and that is what I will do with my SS check, now I got to wait for 2022 to get here FAST....

I'm pretty sure that it will be there waiting for you. If you have to wait until 2022, what is your full social security retirement age? Mine was like 66 years and 7 months.

I'll be 62 in 2022 and start with SS check. I will use a combinantion of military retirement and investments. If everything goes well I'm looking at $6K per month (SS/USAF check). I retired in 2002 from USAF after 22 years and this one is good until I go 6 feet under.

I am 49 and my husband is 62. He will probably semi retire at 65 1/2 and I will probably semi retire at 53. We both can't stand being idle so we will probably work part time at something we want to do, not have to do!! We have invested well, so unless something drastic happens we should be allright. We are not sure if we are going to stay in Florida. It depends how things go with the cost of living here. I do want the money to last until we die.

I realize that it is normally not good etiquette to reply to one's own posts but I checked the SS website and the maximum full Social Security age is 67. I answered my own question.
