Noooo! Very noisy, garrulous people and a bigger city than you'd imagine from the reputation as a small Caribbean resort. More like 2-300,000 people. Very lively and fun, though, great music clubs with reasonable cover charges and beer prices. Very beautiful natural setting - horseshoe shaped bay ringed by low mountains. Sort of 2/3's of way from 3rd world to 1st world.

Default Montego

Montego Bay area is dirty compared to the rest of the island, save Kingston. There is more crime there, if you can't nail it down, it is gone. There is great music there and the food and housing are reasonable. It is a big city with all the things that big cities bring. So it is a mater of taste and what you like. St. Anne's parrish is close, cleaner and more sane.
