Preserving the Beauty – Florida Pics (Sunrise, Fort Myers: home, lease, work)

The last “Florida Pics” thread was up to 48 pages!!! I didn’t begin posting my own pictures until page 30.

I used City-Data’s upload and storage space for the first 44 pictures. Because I have LOTS of pictures (thousands) that I can share, I made several pictures into collages because it looked like I would be limited using City-Data’s upload and storage tools. I made collages, sort of like a “4 for the price of 1” even though I didn’t like doing it that way (too small). By the way, the collage of my pelicans has been downloaded 105 times as of 3-17-07!!!

I then learned how to use Photobucket. With Photobucket I can’t keep track of how many times my pictures are downloaded (bummer), but with Photobucket, I can upload 10,000 medium (800 x 600) pictures (hallelujah). And I won’t have to make collages!!! Yes, the pelicans and dolphins will all have their own individual photos now. (Feel free to download, but not for commercial use.) Plus, with a private Photobucket account, I can share ALL of my photos with my family and friends up north - and hundreds of my photos with my City-Data friends.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – I’m MOVING all of my pictures from the original “Florida Pics” thread to this thread. (Once I post the links to this thread, I will delete them from the original thread) Besides Shores9 (who started the original thread) there were 27 other people posting pictures (including me). But, now there are BIG holes in that thread.

I’d be DELIGHTED if you would all JOIN me in starting this new thread… Okay here is the list of people who posted pictures in the original thread:

Judlea and Cil, how fantastic that you're having another thread with pics. Shore's thread always brightened my day and I really am going to miss him posting all those nice pics. Glad you're both keeping it alive.

Pictures can be removed by the people who post them. That leaves a big hole where the picture once was. The message itself doesn't go away - but a picture can always be removed. That's why several pictures are no longer coming up in the original thread - and why I started this new thread. Like cil, I hope others will post their pictures too!!!

Jammie - It's just no fun to post or view pictures on a "collapsed" thread, and I have literally hundreds of pictures I want to share. Today we went to Lake Istokpoga in Highlands County, Florida and took over 100 pictures. Got some gorgeous pictures...

And I have SO MANY dolphin pictures... Coming soon
