Giovanni is the new chef at our local favorite restaurant. He's a great guy to chat with and his cooking skills are edited to make him look however the producers want him to look. He prepared my NY strip to perfection this evening.

Yep, how you look is entirely up to the producers. Their job is to make good tv, not to make throwaway talent ("contestants") look good. I also suspect the flaming party planner who so grates on the matre'd is no nemesis at all - it just looks far too staged. I cannot believe a party planner who drops a cake on the floor at the event would not be instantly stripped and beaten by chef.

I love these shows but was surprised by the last ep when they prepared food for a mitvah. One of the dishes prepared was a CHEESE burger! Never mind they used bleu cheese for a 13 year old kid, I thought cheeseburgers were considered verboten? The old testamament forbids cooking the meat of an animal in the milk of its mother, and isn't bleu cheese made from cow's milk?
