LOL, yeah there are pretty much large groups of old people around the state, but some have more than others. Sarasota, SW Florida, Tampa Bay, Ocala, Palm Beach County, St Augustine, and All those little beach towns north of Ft Lauderdale on the Atlantic, and the ones on the gulf coast.

I think this post is just too funny! All you young people posting about not wanting to be around "old people" do realize that some day............you will be one too! But if you already have the attitude of not accepting them as vital to all communities, you will probably grow into one of the old codgers that you seem to think all old people are- instead of being cool like me. BTW us cool old people live in Brevard County, too.

Makes me think of a scene from one of my favorite movies: Fried Green Tomatoes..

"[Evelyn is cut off in a parking lot]
Evelyn Couch: Hey! I was waiting for that spot!
Girl #1: Face it, lady, we're younger and faster!
[Evelyn rear-ends the other car six times]
Girl #1: What are you *doing*?
Girl #2: Are you *crazy*?
Evelyn Couch: Face it, girls, I'm older and I have more insurance. "

Towanda!

Anywhere in southern FL is going to have a larger number of older people compared to the rest of the state, particularly in the Naples-Sarasota area as well as the Palm Beach region.

Don't move anywhere in Florida! The state is crawling with old people and it's awful.

For some reason, the government claims these annoying old codgers keep paying millions/billions of dollars per year for other people's 1.28 million children in the state but I don't believe a word of it. There are NO children or younger people here.

In case they're right and I'm wrong - you can look up the counties with the most children on the medicaid reports, and move there. It 'll be fabulous.

Aww, aren't you cute - you probably think that bothers me, but it doesn't in the least. I never cared how young or old I am because I figured long ago that age is nothing but a number. I'll tell you something else - based on that, you are most definitely correct that there ARE a lot of "old" people here and in Florida - but again, I have known people who are "old" when they are in their 20s, and I know people who are still very "young" in their 60s and beyond. If you are only judging by the age of the body then I am sad for you. Maybe you don't intend to live beyond your formative years?

Regardless of where one lives in Florida, there are both younger and older people (You can't have one without the other). But, then, folks generally associate with others that they feel comfortable with. 'Older people' don't rub-off on you, unless you 'wisely' decide not to limit those you are able to associate comfortably with, to a narrow band of your own immediate age group. Experience is a lot better teacher than youth.
