Anyone who has said the Keys is VERY WRONG. I lived in the Keys for years-Marathon mostly and let me tell you how that water is NOT warm during these months. The weather may be warm but the water isn't.

I would say try the gulf side-maybe somewhere around Siesta Key or further south (on the west side of Fl). But the Keys is not an option for warm water right now...

The water on the Gulf is warmer than on the ocean.

So, I would probably concentrate on maybe Palm Beach down to the Keys. Anywhere north of Vero Beach has much more of a sub tropical climate, rather than the tropical climate of the southern part of the state.

I used to live in Marathon, for years-went to high school there too-hello to a fellow Keys-er!

I think people think that because the Keys are islands that it never get's cold there. They are so mistaken. I remember 1 year I froze by butt off! The wind just cut right through you since you get breezes from all sides. The water isn't warm there during the winter months either, I have made my attempts to go swimming...failed mission, lol. But I do miss it there...what Key are you in?

Also the outside temp very by a great deal. Say Tampa in the winter is really cold for me as they see sometimes the teens. Where here in South Florida we see temps at night in the mid 50's but the days are up in the 75-85.
I do hope this helps in your search.

The water temp as of today in Naples is 84.7. Of course, that is much lower than an average of 88 to 90 degrees in July. As my daughter said, it's like swimming in a hot tub without waves in the summer here.
