One of my dietary rules is no food after midnight.

When I do eat after midnight I wake up with a bloated face, feeling heavy and bloated and gross.

But if I absolutely need a snack, I opt for a piece of fruit. I avoid citrus fruits though, since the acid+brushing teeth is bad for enamel. So I would opt for a pear or an apple. Fiber rich, filling and yummy (well, I hate apples but love pears).

No animal products, dairy or protein for me though.

a spoon of peanut butter so I can go back to sleep! If I wake up with hunger, it usually means I am feeling nauseated, so I need something semi-hearty.

Another vote for peanut butter. Either a spoon full, or on a cracker or apple slices if i'm really hungry. But must always be peanut butter. Not sure why.

Unsweetened almond milk with a little maple syrup for sweetness. It's easy to digest and has protein so I feel satisfied.

I don't usually wake up at night, but if I do and I'm hungry, I just go back to sleep.

If I did happen to get my lazy butt up, I'd go after cold leftovers like tacos and spaghetti.

I think I indulged in either homemade rice pudding or tapioca in the middle of the night...lol
I love both

The few times I have woken up hungry, I remember trying things like raisins and almond milk. And sure enough a little while later I wake up with cramps and huge stomach pains. So I just put the kibosh on it with the peanut butter!
