Often times the synthetic pesticides are actually much more benign.

organic is the feel good food religion of the well intentioned and concerned
its a guilt free word like sustainability, environmentally friendy, minimal impact, free range,
its also a cause, the good fight, against the other evil foods.
I work in the food industry, sell lots of organic foods, I buy organic foods from local farmers..
to each there own,,,until the organic people turn into snobs and blow-hards...and on a moral mission...
there's a lot of propaganda and b.s. in the wind about organics...
here's one example 5 yrs ago
a local store had a special order for an organic turkey for 3.99lb for thanksgiving, a 20lb bird
that's 80,00 for a turkey,,the big box stores were selling factory farmed turkeys for .49lb
that's 10.00 for a 20lb bird..
the store couldn't source an organic turkey and didn't want to lose the sale,,,so the owner bought one of them .49lb turkey , thawed .. unwrapped it, and the customer came in,,, he sold that customer that big box turkey for the organic...
after thanksgiving that customer that paid 80,00 for a turkey came in the store, the owner was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect...the customer gave that owner a typed letter which he posted on the front wall,,,the letter - that customer went on and on how that was the best turkey they've ever had,,,, and the whole family now wants to buy an organic turkey,,,"no longer will they ever buy a cheap supermarket turkey" ever again" "what a difference"
a good example,,,of just calling it organic was enough to believe it was the best turkey they've ever had .... good intentions
