I would think twice about eating in a building that was once a public restroom. I would think they would tore down the building and build a new one.

News, Boston's "Pink Palace" once served as a restroom. Now it will serve sandwiches.

City officials announced Wednesday that the 1920s Gothic structure on Boston Common best known as an unused men's lavatory has been leased to become a restaurant.

Public Restroom to Reopen as Sandwich Shop

I think all can be dropped from our minds if it's renovated correctly and completely. But it'd be awfully small.

I think it's an interesting place to use for a sandwich shop. Good for the company for having the mindset to preserve an old structure like that rather than tearing it down.

I don't get the concern over it once being a men's restroom. Yes it's kind of weird, but that adds to the interest factor. I doubt there would be any germ issues, however, once it's renovated. The article said it hadn't been used in decades.

The idea that a public men's room is called "The Pink Palace" makes me wonder if this was once a cruising spot. Unless that's just my imagination.

Why, are they serving food from atop a urinal or something?

They are renovating it, as far as I know there isn't some uber-urine-germ that is going to somehow survive behind the drywall to later come back out to contaminate your food.

Now that would be funny if park rangers who would once bust cruiser types engaged in shenanigans are now lined up for sandwiches there.

Guy in line: I'll take a six inch with extra mayo, hold the cheese.
Ranger: LOL
