I also like getting store-brand bottled water, if I need to get some. Giant has a 35 pack of Arcaida that is $2.99 for the pack, as opposed to a 24 pack of say, Dasani which was $4.99. Yep, gonna go w/ Giant brand.

Also the pasta sauce I had the past few times is better than Prego and Ragu, and a huge price difference. At Giant, their store brand sauce (with my Giant card) was 89 cents, and Ragu in the same jar was 2.79, Prego was 2.59 I think. and the sauce tasted JUST like Ragu if not better. Yum...definitely buying this more often.

a lot of aldis stuff is great. the other day my mom served her friends some baked potato chips that i had left there (purchased from aldi). the ladies were raving about it and desperate to know where they were from. i thought it was funny considering these are not the type of ladies that id expect would shop at aldi.

i get a lot of kirkland stuff. mostly, its because its much cheaper and as good as name brand. i believe my wife prefers the kirkland baby wipes over the name brand.

I usually buy store brands for most of my dairy products. About the only thing dairy wise that I always buy name brand is ice cream and yogurt.

When I lived in Texas, I shopped at HEB and I always bought their store brands for many things. They were really great. Even their soft drinks were good. I liked their private label version of Dr. Pepper better than the real thing.

What started me to thinking about this:

Kroger Brand dry roasted peanuts. To me they are ten times better than Planters dry roasted. I'm not quite sure why, I think it's the seasoning they use on the peanuts (it has paprika in it).

I bought a jar of the Planters peanuts and I'm sitting here wishing I had the Kroger brand ones.
i can't think of a store brand I prefer over name brands, but many we like as well.

Coop Homepage

When I lived in Switzerland, I used their store-brand pasta sauces. I could not find anything comparable back here in the US (both store-brand and name-brand pasta sauces.)

Wegmans store brand is as good, or in many cases better, than the brand name for just about any item. Love their pasta sauces and salad dressings.

Kroger canned chicken and beef broth are better than Swanson's. We did a blind taste test, and we all agreed. Just warmed it and drank it straight - haven't bothered to buy the brand stuff ever since.

I use the Kroger Brand broth quite a bit too. I actually really like the Kroger Brand.
