What would you suggest for a good dependable meat grinder?
I am looking for a good brand that is under $100.00/electric and can produce about 3-5 lbs/minute.
I have looked at Cabelas etc. but have seen some say that be careful as sometime the end grinder piece gets stripped off by the pressure?
Electric vs. Hand.
Will be doing abut 30-50 lbs of meat to make hamburger and sausage.
Kitchen Aid Professional mixer. Yes it costs a lot more than $100.00 but we use it at least once or twice a week for all sorts of cooking tasks.
You could also get a real cheap hand crank one. I wouldn't buy out of Cabela's for that type of item. WAY over priced. Check out restaurant supply houses locally and on line for that type of item.
Another Kitchen Aid attachment user..... I wanted to make more casseroles (due to time and money constraints) but the husband really hates supermarket ground beef. I plan on buying lots of whole turkey when it goes on sale this month and grinding it for chilis and such...
I wonder whatever happened to that big ol' meat grinder my mother had?
It screwed onto the cutting board which slid out from under the countertop. You had to pull a kitchen chair over and place a bowl on it and line it up strategically to catch the juices. Especially when you put in the pickles we would add to the ground up meat for "Funeral Meat Sandwiches".
