We always spend New Years day watching football, enjoy a bloody Mary and eating up all the left overs from Christmas, like the ham, the cheese balls, the candy and cookies, whatever, but how many of you throw everything out after Christmas or just freeze it, forget it and then throw it out next time you clean the freezer (I have done that more than once as well) ?

I most certainly will not toss what is left over. I always enjoy the heated over dinner. This year will most likely be ham etc. Pie, of course, of there is any left over and any other baked goods are just as good 2 to 3 days later.

I hate to waste food, will label and freeze what we don't eat. Or take in to work to share, or share with friends but definitely not toss.

Throw it out? Never! Whatever is left over will be eaten over the next few days, with glee.

We'll certainly enjoy the leftovers for a day or two, but after that.... seeya. There probably won't be that much left.

What leftovers.

Two teenagers and one always starving college student. Oh of course they all have to play year round sports.

kind of reminds me of our old and quite small church in NM. We would have a light lunch or heavy coffee hour every Sunday after the service. When Christmas season was drawing to an end it was a custom to bring left over whatevers to share, and then share the next week and the next. By mid Jan we all decided enough cheese balls, Christmas cookies, or whatever. Even the tomales that were home made would be tossed and that was really hard.

Isn't eggnog supposed to be spiked rainroosty?

Normally we have the same meal a few times until it's done or I get tired of it, (i.e. I make way too much). Nothing is wasted as such, we have lots of critters visiting at night and they're only too happy to partake of whatever we've left for them in the yard. They're getting a tad fussy though.
