So I was at the grocery today and I've got a bit of a sweet tooth. I love ice cream, but I try to keep myself from eating so much of it because it's so bad for you...And I could eat tons of it in a single sitting.

So I buy a pint of Chunky Monkey ice cream because I love everything in it, and i can deal with the walnuts. Then out of the blue, I wander over to the organic/whole foods section of the store just to browse and see if anything catches my eye. I've tried some of the products there in the past, and they were some of the worst tasting foods I've ever eaten in my life, but what the heck, see if there's something I haven't looked at before.

I don't know how long it's been, but apparently they've invented cocounut milk ice cream and it has a ton of different flavors. So I say what the F and I pick up a pint of cookies and cream. Now cookies and cream and I have gone back many many years, we've had some good times. I bought a pint of that just to try it when I got home, and wow! I was surprised by the flavor! There's no dairy in the product, and the coconut flavor adds a pretty awesome level to the ice cream. I can honestly say that I wasn't missing the dairy in it at all. It makes me want to try the coconut milk products they have now.

Anyone else like coconut milk ice cream? Or am I just crazy? lol

I love coconut but never tried coconut milk Ice cream, I do love the Edy's creamy coconut bars. I have 2 boxes in my freezer. There is an Ice cream parlor called coyles by me and they make homemade coconut ice cream which is very good.

I crave the Edy's coconut-pineapple (a seasonal flavor) but I've never heard of coconut milk-based ice cream. Sounds like something I'd like.

Prince, who makes it? I too am an ice cream fanatic and am interested in finding out how it differs nutritionally from regular ice cream.

I've made my own coconut milk ice cream at home. I've stuck with fruity flavors like mango so far, but I bet something with almonds would be good.

I have had "ice cream" made with tofu, it was silky, rich, and delicious. And I am not a soy milk fan. I have had coconut ice cream, and loved it, but the texture was a bit grainy. Could have been the manufacturer.

Coconut milk ice cream? Sounds delicious!

Not sure if it's the same as just "coconut ice cream" that is sold but in any case, I love the taste of coconut and also like ice cream.

Though it's not warm enough now for ice cream.

Sounds interesting. I made a lot of haupia-based recipes last year. I might try making fake ice cream from coconuts.
