My late grandmother (from Madison, GA) made the BEST peach cobbler.

Given Georgia's peach fame, I'm willing to believe your grandmother had skillz. My grandparents and parents used to have peach trees in their backyards, and there is nothing in the world finer than cobbler or fruit crisp made from good ripe peaches right off the tree. My Gram had a formidable talent too.

Why now? I like my peaches southern grown, but still have months to go before they show up at the farmer's market.

To use up the canned peaches before the next season.

Don't want to flood the market and drive down prices.

Sneaky I know.
