Has anyone else noticed this about deli ham? (beer, grilled, undercooked)

Lately it seems that when you get ham from the deli it is never cooked enough? There is nothing worse, IMHO than slimy ham. I don't understand why they are determined to undercook *everything*. I can sort of understand the beef, since many people like their beef undercooked, but not ham. Every time I make a sandwich, I have to cook it more to make it edible. Has anyone else, besides me noticed this?

I haven't had any problems, but what I have found is; the ham has less flavor everytime I purchase it. I just don't like deli meat unless it is from the top of the top company and then you pay top dollar.
I don't have that problem with my Ham either.
I love Virginia Ham & they are "dry" compared to many other types.
Then again, I always prefer roast beef too in my deli buys... and I like them "undercooked" & a bit bloody.
I use them up in 2 days though... and my cat eats them, so no waste there.
I haven't had that problem with ham, but I did with roast beef from the deli. I like medium rare beef, so that is not an issue for me, but this looked like it had been barely cooked. The deli bag had blood all in it. I took it back and didn't get anymore.
"Slimy ham"? That only happens when it is older or been in the fridge a bit too long, from what I have seen. I don't get boiled ham, once in awhile, I will get Boars Head, Ham, and there is no slime factor. Don't go with the store brand, and never get deli ham at Wal Mart.

I agree.. Too bad we can't all afford and have room for the whole ham or roast etc. With a home slicer to cut it. It would stay fresh much longer with less surface area exposed to the air. We do get some prepackaged so-called deli ham slices which have great flavor.

Slimy Ham? Try a better quality ham. Probably the water solution added to most ham products these days to bulk up the meat and add weight. Another ripoff food industries have handed to the consumer.
