On a new diet (Paleo) and many of the recipes call for Flax seed oil however my grocer only carries Linseed oil but assures me its the same as Flaxseed oil, is he right? a bit of research leaves me thinking the two terms are interchangeable..

AFAIK, they are the same. But I think of linseed oil as a utilitarian oil--cleaning paint brushes, etc. but flaxseed is the "edible" term. Sort of like calling rapeseed oil Canola oil. It just sounds better.
