I grind my beans and pour boiling water over them, just the way I do all year long.

Coffee should taste like coffee; it should not make your house smell like air freshener.

My coffee all the time no matter what the season is:

Ground Coffee, water and a percolator coffee pot (not a drip) and sometimes I use the Melitta.

I rarely, rarely have flavored coffee, but when we were first married we used to buy peppermint coffee beans during the holidays. I haven't bought them for years, but I think I may try to find some this season just for the aroma as it brews. It has to be one of my favorite scents and it definitely says to me that the holidays are here.

Coffee is always breakfast blend for me, but in the few cold winter days that we get in Miami I will have cafe con leche (latte made with shot of espresso) and a sprinkle of salt.

Now that it is getting colder we treat ourselves on a Sunday sometimes to a hot coffee drink from Bavaria

This is how I make it :

brewed hot strong coffee
Sugar and cream to taste (optional)
1.5 ounces Hazelnut liqueur
1.5 ounces Cherry Brandy
2 tblsp whipped cream
whole grated nutmeg
shaved dark chocolate

Pour coffee into mugs, stir in Cherry Brandy, top with whipped cream, grate nutmeg lightly onto whipped cream.Shave chocolate on top and serve immediately! Yummy
