A burger joint in Pittsburgh’s South Side with a Burger King sign, employees in Burger King uniforms, and a drive through with a Burger King menu, turned out to not be a Burger King.

South Side is one of Pittsburgh's trendy neighborhoods with eclectic shops and businesses. College students and 20-somethings go bar hopping there. It's quite a fun time for people of that age. My friends and I went there when we were in our 20s. Business owners have security guards to contend with what comes with drunken 20 somethings. South Side made the top 10 hippest zip codes in the country, which was quite a surprise to Pittsburghers.

I enjoyed that news story. If I had eaten there, I would've probably laughed about it and then never gone back.

Like the comments, it reminds me of the movie Coming to America with McDowell's vs. McDonald's.

The McDonalds where I went to college (Lawrence, KS) had a security guard.

It was an official Burger King until very recently. They are leaving the franchise and transitioning to the new business, South Side Burgers. Apparently they were supposed to close and reapply for permits and such under the new business name. It's closed now. They'll be reopening under the new business after they dot the proper I's and cross the proper T's.
