Before anyone goes ape over this issue and swears-off raw fish for life, let's talk about how to avoid becoming infected with these fish-borne parasites - simply use commercially frozen fish when preparing sushi or sashimi.

Now you can return to your normal programming.

I've eaten so much raw fish in my life I'm sure I'd be riddled with worms or whatever if it weren't being handled properly.

Haven't eaten sushi since '89. I was young and healthy.
On my fourth blood test my liver enzymes were finally normal.
I was not feeling well the very next day...didn't got better for 2-3 months.

Love Calif Rolls and anything cooked and LOVE wasabi!

I'll eat sushi but if I'm gonna eat raw protein beef carpaccio would be my #1 choice.

I was born and raised in Hawaii and I've been eating raw fish for decades. I have never gotten sick. Not once! When I'm traveling, I'm careful about where I eat it. No issues in Asian, tho.
