We used to have a Hometown Buffet. I ate there exactly once. The roast beef was pretty good, the chicken was awful. Other than that we have the standard Fujienese Chinese buffet and a couple of casino buffets.

Neither have I since I was 7 on a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells (the first trip that I planned!)

They had this really gooey weird-textured thing that I couldn't tolerate very well.

Chinese, Indian, and pizza, but here in NYC, AYCE buffets seem to be few and far in between (there's also a casino buffet at the casino in Queens near the racetrack, but you wouldn't catch me dead there due to the riffraff that frequents that place). Apart from the fact that NYC AYCE joints are pretty expensive, I'd love some additional variety, including seafood and soul food buffets here.

We're fairly new to our area and have only been to an Indian buffet. Haven't noticed any others, though.

I do NOT eat at many buffets - except in certain casinos - but I have to admit that it is one of the few places where you can find properly prepared vegetables. The only exception is when you are fortunate to live in a city with the old Southern-style cafeterias (Luby's, Farr's or the like). And if you plan right at certain casinos, the meals are very inexpensive.

A lot of places have lunch time buffets, generally typical Finnish cuisine, they're quite nice.

The local Chinese restaurant has a lunch time buffet too but I've never been to it.

I actually quite like pizza buffets though as I have Coeliac Disease so my GF pizza is always custom ordered and I get the salad stuff too

My favourite buffets though are the ones on the cruise ships that run between here and Sweden or Estonia - so much delicious food and they often have different themes, like last time it was Nordic Game Meats theme so there was so much delicious game meat *drools*

Like Nmnita says - In my area, near the Charles Town Racing & Gaming, there is the Epic Buffet in the casino area. Fri nites feature the seafood. Other nites and/or special holidays (Thanksgiving) more of a ham and turkey fare and one end had Chinese food items.

There's a Chinese buffet in the area as well.

Mostly American fare, ie - Ryan's, Hoss, Golden Corral, etc.

Some distance away, I believe Mr C and I stopped in at a Brazilian (?) buffet but instead of going up to a table, the meat was brought to our table and we could select any one and the server would slice and put it on our plate.

We have KFC buffet, which is full of chicken and whatever hot sides they usually serve. Also happens to be full of old people. Gotta get that early bird special.

Then there's the chinese buffet. It's gotta be the most inexpensive food with the least amount of time invested in the prep work. It's been there for years, same as KFC, so they don't have to try.

And that's all the buffets that's within' 20 minutes of driving or so. If I drive 30 minutes I can find better chinese buffets, a pretty kick ass pizza buffet, and I think a couple other buffets I haven't really given any consideration to, since the outside of the buildings don't look very appealing lol.

Cici's Pizza is the pizza buffet. The pizza is pretty good, the salad stuffs is pretty good, the pasta isn't good, but it's not because of the pasta, the pasta sauce needs the help, but it's also probably not made to order either. The BEST reason why it's such a good buffet though? They have kick ass cinnamon rolls, and brownies. ooey and gooey as long as they are relatively fresh.

Pizza is probably the most common, but Chinese is pretty popular as well.

I have gone to the Chinese all you can eat a few times before.. £12 for students which is a bargain in my eyes!

Other than that, there aren't many buffet style places around
