This is becoming a big problem. Canned goods in cheap cans that leach the taste of metal into the food.
I've run into it so many times that I will no longer buy cheap brands or off brands of food. It is no bargain to save a dime on the can if you have to throw it all away.
I've had problems with brands that I've used for years. So far, (touch wood) no problem, with the major brands, but I won't be surprised when it happens.
I opened a can of stew last night that was so bad with the tinny taste that not only could I not eat it, but my dogs refused to eat it.
"That white lining" is what keeps canned foods from tasting tinny, so if the food has a metallic taste the can is probably unlined.
