Sounds like he wants to be more like Little Caesers. They have a 5 dollar pizza thats always hot and ready. You walk in, pay, walk out with a pizza instantly. They arent the greatest pizzas at all but theyre SUPER convenient and cheap. The one near us is always slammed.
Their pizza is nasty! The recent pizzas from them I've tasted is VERY different from the one I remember clearly as a child. It is very SALTY and not good. They need to change it if they want any hope of remaining in the climate of so many other better pizza chains.
I used to go to Shakey's Pizza almost exclusively. Sadly, they are no more. (EDIT: I just googled Shakeys; there are still two in Washington and one in California. MUCH too far away!)
Now, we go to Papa Murphy's and get their "take-N-bake" pizzas. They are good about customizing the pie to our liking (extra cheese, all the olives on one half, etc.).
It is almost as good as Shakey's was...
How many truly great chain pizza joints are there? Most suck and other than convenience thier pizzas are one step above the cardboard frozen ones you get at the grocery store.
Pieology is the new brand that's hitting So.Cal. by storm right now.
It's set up like Subway where you work your way across picking the ingredients you want on it all for the same price and then they put it in the oven right there.
They even have artichoke hearts as an ingredient.
I don't find Pizza Hut to be bad. Their pizza is okay for a chain (better than some, not as good as others). If I want better, I have local options, but they're much more expensive.
