I was just wondering how many cookbooks ya'll have and what's your favorite? I have about 40 and hubby thinks I have too many! I totally enjoy sitting down with a good cookbook just like it was a good novel Ina Garten is my favorite - her recipes are simple and delicious. Of course my ragged Betty Crocker cookbook is the bible and has the stains to prove it!
I have Lidia's Italy, The Encyclopedia of Creative Cooking, a very, very old America's cookbook, Ciao Italia by Maryann Esposito and Nella Cucina by MA Esposito. So 5.
I think there is an entire library of cookbooks in my basement! Along with years and years worth of magaizines with recipes in them! When my husbands grandmother passed we bought her house - and they were all left. Just to tell you how she never threw anything away - we found a box with every single check she ever wrote dated back to 1937! Not to mention every single card she ever recieved! Getting a visual of all the magazines? LOL - I keep saying I'm going to go through them so I can find some good recipes but everytime I go down there I get so overwhelmed just looking at them!
I own about 10 cookbooks, 15 magazines & 1000's of recipe cards!! That's not even getting into all the online stuff I have collected.
My favorite cookbooks are Barefoot Contessa & a technique cookbook that I got from my cooking club (I know...sounds corney) & I love all my recipe cards that I could endlessly flip through!
My recipe cards are like a family jewel, too. I have some that go back as far as my great grandma! And you know those are the good ones!
I have approximately 10 cookbooks. One of my favorites is a really old (from the 1950s) cookbook from I think betty crocker. my grandma gave it to me. Some of the recipes and ingredients are disgusting but it has really great tips.

That pretty much sums me up too. My favorites are my Joy of Cooking and The Sopranos Family Cookbook. Laugh if you must, but there's a mean Caesar Salad recipe in that Sopranos book. LOL. And the JoC book my MIL, who doesn't cook, got for me for the conversion chart. She was shocked when she found out there were actual recipes in there to be used. LOL. I like it for the basic stuff. The other day I needed a cream cheese icing recipe-sure enough it was in there.
Do take-out menus count??? If not, only about 5-6. We started subscribing to Cooking Light magazine and they have some great, (somewhat) healthy recipes.
