This link says you shouldn't, but I don't agree. I wash all my meats because I don't trust that a butcher has clean hands and hasn't cross-contaminated between meats/poultry. I'm VERY careful to clean my sinks and countertops after preparing ANY foods.
^^^ same here. I always wash the meat and never had any problems. Those precautions are for sloppy people. I guess, nowadays we need to be told about simple things in life. Stuff that should be just a common sense. Dumbing down the nation?
Food paranoia and germophobia is becoming the norm now. Many adults have never produced any of their own food, and find the topic somewhat mysterious. Lots of people have never been around chickens, let alone raised and butchered them.
And worrying about your sink becoming contaminated is really... ridiculous. Just wash it after washing the meat; is that a rocket science now?

No butchers nowadays. There is automatic cutting machine.

At one of the grocery store where I buy my meats, the meat comes in boxes and the workers in the back unpack the boxes and do the packaging, so yes they are touching the meat/chicken.
