do you wash dried fruit? (organic, vegetables, consume, apple)

Washing dried fruit never, ever crossed my mind and it would take a lot to convince me that it was necessary. I sometimes have to pick a few stems out of the raisins, though.
No! I soak over night some fruit especially wild blueberries. I use them to make pies. Just add corn starch and thicken. Pour into baked pie crust and cook. Use this method for fruit to bake with.
Since I eat with my eyes first, I'd rather have the sulphur dioxide than eat withered looking gray-brown dried fruit.
My favorite dried fruits are apples and (california-style) apricots. Trader Joe's is the best place to get the apricots (price and quality), but I usually get the apples at Sprout's.
Adding water to dried fruit will start to rehydrate it. You only do this if you're going to cook with it.

That's a very misleading statement..and would scare anybody off.
I have purchased MANY packages of dried fruit that are visually fine yet and don't fit your description.
