Yep - some metal is fine - it has to be smooth I was told. And not all metals will work - some will still arc due to their content. So husband doesn't put ANY metal in it just to be sure.

I sent an email to the CS at the brand - they replied it is cobranded and sold at Walmart, take it up with them.

HA!! Ever tried dealing with WM customer service? fugeddaboudit.

I have never seen any arcing or sparking when microwaving food and I've been using microwaves for almost 40 years now. And lots of times I'm standing there watching and waiting for my food to finish cooking. So if there ever was any arcing and sparking, I would have seen it by now.
