Only because it was a little gamey (I didn't buy it from the usual place. BIG mistake). Normally, I'd just reheat it in the sous vide and slice it up. But this stuff wasn't that good the first time around, and if I'm going to serve it again, it needs something to cover up that gamey taste.
Last night I used up some of it making a sort of gyro with tziziki. Not one of my better efforts.
But I still have some left. Luckily, it's very rare (should have been cooked more in the first place) We don't like shepherd's pie. Before I pitch it or give it to a neighbor for her dog (too rich for our old guy),
No, in my experience lamb does not reheat well, it is about the only meat I will not reheat, unless it was a lamb stew. Maybe make a stew or a curry with it.
since it is not fully cooked anyway I would think stew or casserole would be good. I can't remember what it was called but I had thick lamb stew at a Mexican restaurant that was very tasty (and the spices would help with that gamey taste). It was served over rice and had corn and poblanos in it.

As one who grew up eating lamb about five times a week, it being the staple food in Australia in those days, I can thoroughly agree that it does not reheat well. Which was why, as a child, we dreaded the lamb salad that followed the day after the lamb roast.
I use leftovers to make a toasted sandwich, it is not too bad.
If it was gamey the first time around it will be gamey the second and third time around. Give it to someone with a wagging tail and go back to your usual source next time lamb is on the menue.
