While driving through Kansas, I got to eat at Arthur Bryant’s. Best BBQ I had ever tasted, and while there are no doubt many good places around the country, only a few raise the bar. Arthur Bryant’s is definitely one and I’d go back to KC just for that!
Hey I have a smoker and smoke just about anything that walk, crawls, or swims. Sorry a very restricted invite list. Otherwise we have some darn good BBQ in Memphis - Corky's (the original, not the franchise) and Stateline BBQ stand out, BBQ fest for Memphis and May is this weekend I think.
The best BBQ is the one middle of nowhere side of the road with a smoker in the backyard or side and the menu is scribbled on a cardboard. Big portions and cheap prices not so many millennial approved hyped up places charging $25-35 for ribs. BBQ should be cheap eats not fine dining like so many new places.
I've been to this place and it's completely overrated.

That place was good too, my wife made us go back a second time, but I personally preferred Central. Gus' Fried Chicken was probably the best meal I had in Memphis though.
Franklin's in Austin is rated by some authorities as the best in the US. I've been and it is pretty incredible, but I don't think its better than the places in Lockhart or Luling. Luling City Market is the best I've ever had.
I'm a big fan of Stubb's BBQ in Austin. Great music venue too.
