I'm just curious, given recent reports of lemon shortages. As of end of August, how much is a single lemon where you live? And where are you buying them?

Here in SoCal, the local lemon trees shed all their fruit about a month ago. It pains me to pay 50 cents for a lemon when normally I can get them for free. When I need lemon juice, I use what I squeezed and froze earlier in the year, and when that's gone, I guess I will buy limes or go without until the next season.

Given current prices, probably won't be the last of that kind of theft!!

I buy lemons at Restaurant Depot, about $6.00 for a 5# bag. When we make homemade limoncello, we buy them by the case (about 50#) for about $34.00 to $35.00 per case. We only use the zest and have to figure out what to do with the juice.

Take I-75 east, get onto 595 to Davie Road, turn right, go about 7 blocks, turn left at the light and you're right there. The closest one on the west coast is in Tampa. If you have a business, doesn't matter if it is a restaurant or not, you just need a resale certificate to be able to purchase there. If you barrow the resale certificate, the owner will have to go there the first time. I buy stuff in bulk, split it and take some to my daughter and granddaughters in Punta Gorda every time my service route takes me to the west coast. I also service the Greater Naples Fire District.

Two different stores here in South Florida - one had them at 58 cents each, the other had them at $1.19 each! (and they weren't that huge and beautiful!!)
