I do it. When I go get the opened bag a few days later, the towel is always damp, & I think this is a good thing, because the excess moisture on the veg would make it go mouldy.

nope, but I bag package chicken parts with a couple of paper towels. Those packages always drip sticky chicken fat.

Salad greens and berries. But I take them out of the bag and put berries in a bowl, greens in a sealed container, paper towels on top and bottom. Berries and romaine are pre-washed. I admit to not washing bagged salads.

I do. It usually preserves them for a bit longer.

If anyone watched Great British BakeOff, Nancy, who won a few years ago, has a really great social media presense where she shares eco-friendly cleaning and food tips. Last year, one of her food waste things was Carrot Saturday, where she was doing an experiment to see how long properly stored produce could last. She had a carrot that she wrapped in a damp tea towel that was good for weeks and weeks: https://twitter.com/nancybbakes/stat...EXPiIwS8G_QKEA

I add a paper towel to clamshells or bags of salad. Wen it gets damp I replace it. Keeps the salad fresh longer. Berries do better in a glass jar, in fact a lot better. IF you wrap celery in aluminum foil it keeps a long time.

I put a section of plain paper towel in our baby spinach bag

We try to eat our bagged salad within 2 days unless it gets pushed back so we can’t see it. I try to keep it in one spot but if spouse goes out shopping and puts stuff in the fridge, he may have moved the bagged salad who knows where. If I don’t see it, I tend to forget about it.
