In my opinion technology is making people opt out of coexistence. Remarks mentioning preferences for grabbing food anonymously and eating at home instead in a social setting is something you wouldn't see or hear much of pre-pandemic. It's little wonder as a result I suppose that this country has become so divided with a heightened ability of finding what sets us apart, versus the much higher ratio of what we have in common.
There's also a scam where somebody prints up a QR code as a sticker, puts it over the restaurant code on the table (or other places, like a pharmacy), and when you scan it, you wind up somewhere you don't want to be.
Interestingly, I went to lunch with a party of 12 women yesterday. Almost all were retirement age. Even though we all had smartphones, nobody really wanted to use the QR menu. We were SOL though, because there were no other menus.
Still, we all managed to order off it. It would not keep me from going to a restaurant, but what is the big deal about printing off a bunch of paper menus? It might have made sense during Covid.

Are restaurants still having supply shortages? Is inflation still ripping? QR menus can be instantly updated to reflect current pricing and availability.

I thought the job of a restaurant was to cater to their customers’ experience? It is not my job to make accommodations for the restaurant.

I don’t see it as a big deal either. They can always go to an office store, heck even Walmart and buy a package of those report covers and use tape to seal the ends off if they so choose to.
There’s even mini machines that the could print out their menu, then put that into one of those machines and have the plastic seal it. Then, they could use a Lysol wipe or such to clean them off. Sure it’s a small expense but well worth it if you’re going to keep your business growing.

Thank you for pointing this out ^^^^ It never would have occurred to me. After seeing your post, I did some googling and came across this article:
