The first year we did it, my dad fussed the whole time. The next year, where's the fryer? I do miss the smell of turkey cooking, but I get over it really quick when you taste that moist, deep fried turkey!

I like to have one of the best tasting but bad for your health Thanksgivings. We will have Turkey, which I stuff a bit of butter under the skin to keep moist. I then cover the entire bird in a nice thick bacon and but on a little broth. The bacon gives it a nice crunch and some great flavor, as well as nice nice gravy. My wife makes Sweet Potato Pie, Corn casserole, Pumpkin Pie, and a green bean casserole.

Just looking at what some of you guys are having is making me hungry and we have a few weeks to go. Cant wait to pig out and watch some Texas football on Thanksgiving night

Every year, we take turns going to different brother and sisters house. Last year I didn't go anywhere, I don't think any of us did. It was the first time I ever had my own tg. It was simple, just the kids and I.

This year, back into the swing of normal TG routine.

I am making sausage cornbread stuffing, and I am thinking about which kind of cheesecake to make.
Kahlua just came out with a French Vanilla flavor. Our immediate thought was cheesecake!

If you're in an area where you can purchase a pre-cooked fried turkey try that. It's the most tender, tasty turkey I've ever had.

We'll be heading up to my sisters in Oklahoma again this year. She has to be one of the best cooks in the world. Her stuffing is out of this world.

Dinner is an all day affair starting at noon and ending late. Everyone is invited as we like to spend our time with anyone who is not a one way parasite, has a good heart, and isnt flakey. Of course that eliminates at least 99% of America but that is not my problem. There are no capacity constraints in this middle class household. You can come by car, plane, or rickshaw, whatever gets you here.

Is anyone making lefse? I do every year and was wondering about the potatoes. My family has come to love the Yukon Gold for mashed. Would they be a good sub for russets in lefse?
