Ranking Talenti Flavors by Epicurious

I feel gypped. Our supermarkets don't have half those flavors. You'd think they'd all carry Pumpkin this time of year.

I was at my former supermarket the other night, much smaller than either I shop at now, and noticed that the space formerly devoted to Haagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry's, Graeter's, and Talenti is now loaded up with the crapulence known as Halo Top.

Default Haagen adn my fingers

Haagen Dazs Ice Cream is great; actually my favorite in any flavor. But why do I have to tear my fingers apart to get that blasted lid off? Has anyone figured out an easy way to remove the lid? Not just the first time. That is bad enough. But every time until it is all out of shape with a bad fit and my fingertips ache. Help?????

And, why, pray tell is a little gremling hassling me to make that message longer? It says all I need to say. I want the lid off the ice cream without eating with ten digital bruises.

Now, is that long enough.

Try letting it soften up a bit.

Otherwise, hold the cup at the edge of a table or other 90 degree surface so that the lid is resting on the lip of the table with the cup hanging down below it. Then ball your other hand into a fist and slam it down onto the lid while gently pulling down on the cup. The way you open a beer bottle on a picnic table.

I have no idea why Hazel. I usually only have a problem the first time.

Right, the first time is the worst. The ice cream is worth the trouble but I surely wish they'd provided a lip for pulling up - or something. Don't you? I did have an idea last night. I'll try poking a table knife beneath the cap. Maybe that will do it.

Good morning. :-)

Im GLAD they make the tops difficult to take off. Remember that disgusting deal where people were going to the grocery, opening ice cream containers, licking it and putting it back in the freezer? The #icecreamchallenge. Ugh.

Ugh! No, I never heard that but it does not surprise me. People will do anything. To the good or to the bad. But, really, there are better ways to seal up ice cream. In fact, once you get the Haagen Dazs lid off, it is sealed. Even if you can't tell with vanilla. :-)

I was telling my yard helpers just yesterday how much I used to like Haagen Daz vanilla ice cream with a little Baileys Irish cream poured over it. However, I haven't touched either since my heart attack. Pooh.
