Just because something is pink doesn't automatically make it my favorite. For example, I am not much into watermelon-flavored things; I prefer pink sweets to be strawberry-flavored, with watermelon being dark green. Since cherry is red by default, and lime is light green by default, I think strawberry should be pink and watermelon should be dark green.

But the part of the watermelon you eat isn't dark green, so it doesn't make sense for watermelon flavored items to be green.

But if cherry is red and lime is light green, where does that leave strawberry and watermelon? I think it makes sense to make strawberry pink and watermelon dark green, since red and light green are already taken. They can't both be pink. I think there should be some sort of standardization of colors and flavors, with red for cherry, pink for strawberry, dark green for watermelon, and light green for lime.

I think it makes sense for the color (even though it is artificial dyes) to go along with the color of the fruit its supposed to taste like. There are many fruits that are the same color. That is why you read the label to see what flavor it is instead of making a standardization of what colors belong with what flavors.
If lime is light green, and cherry is red... What color should apple be? How about pear, raspberry or pomegranate? Grape is purple, so what about plum or blackberry?
