I don't suppose I've had a Cheerio in ten years. Never gave them a thought. I don't rally like cold cereal.
Then suddenly out of the blue I've eaten two boxes of Cheerios in the last two weeks. For some reason they are suddenly delectable and delicious and I'm loving my Cheerios. I have no idea why.
Does this happen to you? Sudden delight in some ordinary food that you'd completely forgotten about?
Location: I never said I was perfect so no refunds here sorry!

Just so you not out there dangling with your cheerio
I like Cheerios and will snack on a small bowl with fruit. Does anyone here find any difference between the original and the other brands found in stores?
I occasionally go through a "Cheerios" phase as well. In addition to just regular Cheerios, I also like Honey Nut Cheerios.
When my dh grew up, sometimes his mother fed him Cheerios for dinner, or as a snack. Not with milk, but fried in butter. When he first told me, I thought that sounded nasty, but I tried it once as an experiment. It was actually kind of tasty. It wasn't something I would make again, though. Cheerios to me are good as is, or with milk.

That sometimes happens with different kinds of foods, and there's always a story about something. And Cheerios are good for you, too. If you eat one type of cereal in your life, you've already picked the right one.
I love Cheerios, eat them a lot and have a box of them in my cupboard right now. My cholesterol is very low, BTW.
My brother ate a bowl of Cheerios every night before he went to bed for probably the first 16 years of his life. And today, at almost 60, he is the healthiest person I know. Coincidence? A good foundation or great genetics? He doesn't drink or smoke but he also doesn't really do much to warrant such good health.
Anyway, if you can afford the calories and have a sweet tooth, try them with brown sugar!
Love Cheerios! I also love cereal and milk as a snack but have avoided this since Christmas. I'm "experiencing delight in ordinary foods" right now. Know exactly what you're talking about! The "real" Cheerios taste a little crispier than the Publix store brand (grocery chain in the Southeast).

Yes, plain Cheerios have to be the real thing, the store brands aren't even close to the same. The texture is not right, the oat flavor is not right or not present at all, and they are usually sweeter than real Cheerios.

Weird, I just posted this thread about hot buttered Cheerios a couple days ago:
