Yes, it's pork skins. Where I live they are called "pork rinds" and are a heart attack in a bag they are so bad for you. Damn, and I love'm but I won't eat'em anymore.
As I've said for years... son, pork don't have rinds, oranges have rinds.
I still have an unopened bag of 'rinds dated September '09. I would hate to throw them away. I figure, maybe they're still good? But I won't open them - in case they're not good. So I will keep them on top of my refrigerator forever, I guess.
I don't like pork cracklings all that much. The other day though, I was starving, and I found a bag on top of the fridge and ate like one third of the bag. They were delicious.
