Moonshiners loved the Ford flathead V-8. They souped it up and out ran every cop on the back roads of NC. Just ask Junior Johnson who was an early NASCAR racer....
That's an older restoration and the electrical problems are likely due to the original Postive 6 volt ground system. You have to yank out the entire wire harness and replace it and while you're at it, one may as well convert to 12 volt negative system for much easier starting and electrical storage.
I'll bet that truck needs a frame off restoration as well. Also who knows about the engine. How many miles? Rebuilt? When? Just can't look at a picture without the information. The $67K truck was frame off with no detail unfinished. A bit pricey and if I had $67 to buy a vintage car, muscle cars are popular now and station wagons have made a come back as well. Convertibles, no mater what kind always sell for more and hold their value.
The F-1's were extremely common with athree speed on the column. The F-2's a little less common but had a 4 speed on the floor. The F-3's muchless common, and the 4' & 5' were dual rears with flatbeds and dump bodies. Quite common.
My father in law has a 52 chevy just sitting in the driveway, my wife says she is going to bring it home one day. Truck needs some love, old 6 cyl needs rebuilt. Body straight but has deep patina.
The 31 Vicky needs more than love. It needs a frame and front end.
