What a shame... I have always liked those Thunderbirds. Also notice yours has the rare digital instrumentation. A shame to have to salvage it out.

Can you buy the parts at a salvage lot and repair the car yourself?

Insurance totalled out our 97 Olds back in 2005 when I hit a deer on the highway... they gave us $2300 and let dad buy the car back for $200. He went to the junk yard and bought $50 in parts, about a couple of hours body work and it was on the road again! In fact we are still driving it and that was 5 years ago.

I will be exchanging the tires & putting the good ones on my olds ( i have done 1 so far).

The estimated damage is approx $2,000.00.

What would you do if you were in my shoes ? The car has 139k miles but still runs good. I am not allowed to part out my car where i live.

Heres before & after the accident pics.

The members on c-d give the best advice i have ever seen on any website incl fordforums.com.

I see on your web tv page (I didn't think anyone had a web tv terminal anymore ) you claim it was totaled and you felt the adjuster low balled you...while that's their way of doing business, may I ask did you at least find out what the book value was before accepting their offer?

If the car runs and drives I'd say pay the fees and drive it as is unless it has more damage than just cosmetic damage. Otherwise you might be better off to cut your losses and sell it to someone else for a parts car or a derby car.
The blue book value of the car in 2009 was $1795.00 in excellent condition. I actually got $1,801.00 - 195.00 buy back & fees. I feel i may have been able to get more money for the car but im not sure if i would of gotten it. Its too late now to fix up car & pay all the outragious fees cause im broke. I am driving my gas guzzler 85 olds. The Tbird wasnt too good on gas either.
