That is clearly an evasive move. He's dodging the parts falling out of that 6.0L diesel!!!

yeha, looks like the google camera car did the same thing as the person in the white Nissan SUV did, which is go around the guy picking up the blanket/lifevest/whatever that fell off the trailer behind the pickup. If you folow the arrows back to the begiining of the bridge, then turn around and follow that pickup, it's pretty obvious what's happening.

The OP is making it seem that the white SUV is pulling into the lane of the oncoming Google camera car, when your actually looking out the back of the camera car in that shot.

the towel was not what they were avoiding. The truck was parked blocking traffic.
