I PM the poster, but yes, it is just the front two shocks. You need a spring compressor for the coils, but the shocks and labor all together is only a few hundreds dollars. The full lift kit, nice one at that, is in the 3000 range.
I put Bilsteins on my wife’s QX56 and they ran I thing $100 a pop. I have a strut compressor o bought for $80 and it worked great. Took me about 1 hour.
Unless they are buying racing shocks like King shocks for a trophy truck I can’t see a price tag of $3000 for a set of replacement strut cartridges
If Ford designs this pup right it'll run circles past Jeep. In North America, that is. In Europe? Nah. Only pocket groups of truck enthusiasts in the UK, France, Spain, Russia, would be interested in this rig. But here in America? It will be a winner for Ford. We've always been an off-road truck enthusiast type of country.
Not likely. It won’t have the aftermarket support Jeep does. It might cannibalizes 4Runner sales and some Wrangler sales, but until it amasses the shear variety and availability of aftermarket support the TJ and JK have, it won’t touch the enthusiasts.
Just watched motor week the new Jeep Gladiator is one hell of a vehicle. Can out tow any midsize pickup out there. All the doors and roof are detachable. These are going to sell like crazy.
Dealers, after relinquishing their phones, were shown an early build of a two-door Bronco and told that a four-door version also would be offered, according to multiple sources in the room. The Bronco is designed to be customizable, with a removable hard top and removable doors that can be stored in the vehicle’s cargo area, the sources said. The side mirrors will be attached to the front pillars so they remain in place when the doors are taken off, unlike the Jeep Wrangler — one of the chief rivals Ford is targeting with its Bronco revival.
The renditions I’ve seen make it seem like the windows of the broncos are removable, but the roof stays intact. That’s a bit of a stretch on the removable roof idea if that’s the case.
As more "news" trickles out, I've been reading more about there also being a "Baby Bronco" that would compete with the Renegade. If true, Ford would have been smart to simply make a deal with Suzuki and sell re-badged, homologated Suzuki Jimny's as the smaller Bronco. Would keep the cost way down, but it would probably cannibalize too many Daddy Bronco sales.
