OK, the original Mustang was based on the Ford Falcon platform. Do you think a modern Ford Falcon could sell today if it were based upon the current Mustang? Would it make sense to not market it as a Falcon and instead market it as a 4 wheel independent suspension upscale model to be sold in the Lincoln line and compete with BMW3 series while at a slightly lower price. Advantage of this is it would provide another sales platform for the Mustang tech but with four doors and slightly more lux interior/trim. Sort of like a Mustang for the family man who still enjoys a little fun but wants to look business professional. I only wish they would offer Ford Australia's DOHC inline 6 as a base engine. God I miss inline 6 engines.

If they were to bring back the Falcon, it wouldn't be anything like the Falcon of the 60's, nor would it be anything like the Mustang of today, so...no.

If they were to bring back the Falcon, it would most likely be another FWD car, equipped standard with air, cruise, AM/FM/CD player, automatic trans, power doors and locks....it MIGHT not come with heated leather seats or mirrors.

The Falcon of the 60's was for those who wanted a good economical car on a budget.

It is no surprise the American manufacturers are in so much trouble when they sell junk here and good cars like the Falcon in Australia.

It's pretty stupid the Falcon isn't sold over here in the USA.

My first cxar was a 1964 Falcon Futura. Candy apple red with a souper up 289. And I loooooooved my Falcon.

But, a retro Falcon would not sell today. The car was pretty bland.
