Hi, we made an offer on a short sale in 11/08, and they just told us that they will not accept. The sellers have 8 seperate lots, one has the house, a different one has the well on it. We put in an offer on those two only. Suntrust will not seperate these two lots from the loan, so we are withdrawling. When/if it gets foreclosed on, how can we find out when the auction will be? it is in Franklin County, VA and I can't find info on their real estate auctions anywhere! Also, they had stopped the foreclosure process b/c of our offer...how long will it take for the foreclosure to take place now that we are withdrawing?
Thanks for any insight/answers in advance...WE REALLY WANT THIS HOUSE!!!
You should check the public records. In Florida some Counties have them online open for the public and some other States do the same, but I have no clue about your State. You can call the court house and ask them how to proceed. Maybe you have to go and check on a daily or weekly base at the court house to see which properties will be auctioned.

I'm in NJ, so I obnly have a cursory understanding of the process in VA. If you can find someone local with more info, you should. But here's a start.
Virginia uses both Judicial and Non judicial processes to foreclose on preoperties. The more common method is non judicial, but you will need to somehow find out what this particular lender is fgoing to do with this particular property. Here's a link to RealtyTrac's explanation of the process in VA.
Good Luck.
