We are moving back to CO after being gone for about 20 years. My children have both been in a dual immersion Mandarin Chinese program since kindergarten in here NC. I'm wondering what, if any, Mandarin opportunities might be available in Fort Collins. Ideally we would find a Mandarin dual immersion program in Fort Collins, but if that is not an option, does anyone know if there is a Saturday school for Chinese? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the Global Village Academy in Fort Collins?

I have friends with kids in GVA here in Fort Collins and they seem to really like it. I also see on their marquee sign out front each day when I drive by that they teach Mandarin.

Thanks, Mike. I would love to hear from some families who have children at GVA. I'm also curious about which neighborhoods are nearest the school, and where the kids go to high school after matriculating through GVA's K-8 Mandarin program.

I'll check with the folks I know whose kids are there to see if they would allow you to contact them via e-mail.

The Sliver Oaks subdivision basically surrounds the school. Rossborough is across the street. Kingston Woods and Westfield Park are a few blocks east. A few blocks to the north-west you'll find Hampshire Ponds, Quail Hollow, Fox Run Village West, and Brown Farm.

Friends of mine are very active at GVA. I can try to put you in touch with them if you'd like. I went to an informational meeting about it, but our plans have since changed and the kids won't be going there. The school itself is located just down the street from Spring Canyon Park. It's adjacent to one of the largest mobile home parks in town, as well as some older, but nice, neighborhoods. I don't know for certain, but as for high school, my guess would be the kids go to whichever school is designated for the neighborhood they live in.
