We are a conservative, inter-racial Christian couple considering relocating to Colorado for our retirement, and are considering Colorado Springs and Loveland. Can anyone give some insights into the major differences between these two cities?

CS is a big city with a lot going on, and lot of different people.

L is a relatively small city, not much going on or things to do, with a rather narrow range of folks there. It's also less scenic and less close to the mountains than CS.

Agree. I view L as a suburb of Fort Collins, a college town and not the bastion of conservatives that CS is.

Springs for the win. Big military town. You'll love it. Still a lot of conservative areas N of Denver but the closer you are to Boulder the less you'll see.

Don't know if the OP has moved yet, or where to, but will say this: really seems as if Colorado Springs's crime is really increasing. Seems like each time I look at the opening page of the Internet, some type of crime/crimes have happened there. Don't know what is going on, but Colorado Springs is sure seeing its share of crime now.

As for Loveland, not much to say other than the recent shooting that happened where a teen was left dead and another injured. I've been seeing a picture of the white truck LPD has been looking for.

Yea, in COS crime is up, traffic is up, homelessness is up, transportation studies are trying to ramrod arterials through neighborhoods. We also are considering increasing water availability rules that will probably inhibit the city's ability to continue adding crime, traffic, and congestion.
